The best thing about your role: The best thing about my role at Foothills Academy is keeping my focus on the mission of the school and how to meet the needs of that mission. I’m proud of the people who make up our teaching and administrative staff, and working with them as their director/principal is an honor.
Some of my favorite things:
- Colors: Blue and Green
- Food: Italian (in Italy), almost anything my wife makes
- Book: Too many to pick just one
- Subject: Literature
- Hobby: Playing guitar
- Sport: Basketball
If I wasn’t doing what I do now, I would be: Playing guitar and singing in a local bistro
Why did you choose to become an administrator?
I started to be interested in education in my third year of college, and though I was studying philosophy at the time, I began to see that the field of education has philosophical underpinnings that are highly important to be aware of and to study. The interaction between theory and practice in education became more and more interesting and important to me, to the point that I made the choice to study it and continue on to make our version of it happen.
Foothills Academy has been an A-Rated and Excelling school for most of its existence. We’ve received a School of Merit award from the Arizona Charter Schools Association.
