About Christa Garrison

I graduated from Arizona Christian University in May of 2015 with my bachelors in Secondary Education with an emphasis in English and Communications. I am a woman of many hats here at Foothills Academy. I am the lead teacher on the Washington, D.C. trip, the Life Skills teacher for 7th grade, and I teach a semester long section of ANTS with the 7th graders in addition to my primary role, teaching Language Arts to 7th and 8th grade. All of these activities keep me busy; I love working at Foothills Academy!

B.A. Secondary Education- Arizona Christian University

Work Experience
2016-Present:  Foothills Academy Middle School English Teacher
2015-2016:  Freedom Academy South Campus

The best thing about teaching: My favorite part of teaching is the students! I love helping them understand a complex topic and seeing them take ownership for their learning.

Some of my favorite things:

  • Color: Navy Blue
  • Food: Hamburgers
  • Book: “The Complete Works of H.P. Lovecraft” by H.P. Lovecraft
  • Subject: Literature
  • Hobby: Hiking
  • Sports Team: Dallas Cowboys

If I wasn’t a teacher, I would be: a writer

Why did you choose to become a teacher?
I chose to become a teacher so I could share a bit of my passion for Literature and hopefully inspire them in the same way my teachers inspired me.

I have traveled to China, Hong Kong, and Cebu, Philippines, to teach English as a Second Language
